California Code for Egress.
The California code for egress windows require:
At least one (1) operable window that can be opened in each habitable room.
Egress windows must have a minimum opening height of 24 inches, a minimum opening width of 20 inches, and a minimum net opening area of 5.7 sqft.
The bottom of the clear opening cannot be more than 44 inches above the floor.
